Ukraine-Russia talks may take place in Geneva – Kellogg

Negotiations between Ukraine and Russia could take place in Geneva, according to Keith Kellogg, the U.S. President’s Special Envoy for Ukraine.

As reported by Ukrinform, he made this statement in an interview with Fox News on Tuesday.

“There’s need to continually apply some pressure on the Russians to get them to the table and make a determination…” Kellogg emphasized.

According to him, when U.S. President Donald Trump spoke with Russian leader Vladimir Putin just over a week ago, “the Russians said they are going to come up with what they call a memorandum” — a document outlining their vision for achieving peace. Ukraine has already submitted its version of the conditions for peace.

Kellogg believes that the next step is to review the proposals from both sides and develop a corresponding plan of action.

“And another meeting will probably be in Geneva,” he said, noting that the U.S. initially hoped the meeting would take place in the Vatican, but “the Russians did not want to go to the Vatican.”

“So, I think, Geneva might be the next stop where all three major leaders will meet – President (Trump), President Putin, and President Zelensky and hammer this thing out, and sign some kind of document to end this war,” Kellogg said.

As Ukrinform previously reported, following Russia’s latest massive missile strikes, President Trump stated that Putin had “gone absolutely crazy,” senselessly killing people in Ukraine.
