U.S. President Donald Trump is having a phone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

This was announced on social media X by White House Spokesperson Dan Scavino, according to Ukrinform.

According to Trump's representative, the American and Russian leaders have been in talks since 10:00 EDT (17:00 Moscow time).

"The call is going well, and still in progress," Scavino wrote.

Earlier, Trump had promised to discuss terms for a ceasefire in the Russia-Ukraine war with Putin.

As reported by Ukrinform, US President Donald Trump is serious about his conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, which is taking place today.

The day before, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer informed Trump about negotiations between the "coalition of willing" nations regarding strengthening support for Ukraine and providing assistance in the event of a peace agreement with Russia.
