Trump: Ukraine peace talks involve territorial issues
He stated this on Wednesday, Ukrinform reports, citing Sky News.
"We have a very complex situation solved on one side, pretty much solved," Trump said, referring to the ceasefire agreement reached with the Ukrainian delegation on Tuesday.
He added that "we've discussed a lot of the details" including the areas of land involved in the proposed deal, but insisted "we don't want to be wasting time."
On March 11, Saudi Arabia hosted talks between U.S. and Ukrainian officials. As a result, Ukraine accepted the U.S. proposal for a 30-day ceasefire along the entire frontline, with the possibility of an extension if Russia complies with the terms simultaneously.
However, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated on Wednesday that Ukraine would not agree to territorial concessions in any future peace negotiations with Russia.
