Trump: U.S. representatives heading to Russia for Ukraine ceasefire talks
He said this on Wednesday during a meeting with the Prime Minister of Ireland in the Oval Office, Ukrinform reports citing The Guardian.
“We have people going to Russia right now,” Trump said.
He added that after Ukraine agreed to a truce following talks in Saudi Arabia, everything would now depend on the Russian side.
At the same time, the US president emphasized that his team “we have gotten some positive messages on ceasefire” from the Russian side.
As Ukrinform reported, talks between representatives of Ukraine and the United States took place in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. The Ukrainian delegation supported the US proposal to establish a complete ceasefire for 30 days along the entire front line. This regime can be extended by mutual agreement of the parties, subject to acceptance and simultaneous implementation by the Russian Federation.
