Starmer to host virtual meeting of leaders on Ukraine

That's according to Reuters, Ukrinform reports.

"You can expect the prime minister to host a second leaders' meeting of the coalition of the willing, building on his Lancaster House summit," Starmer's spokesperson told reporters, referring to the London meeting on March 2.

According to Bloomberg, the meeting will include leaders from NATO and Commonwealth countries ready to contribute military forces to a "coalition of the willing." However, the exact list of participating countries has not been disclosed.

"Our focus is on supporting Ukraine and ensuring a sovereign and secure Ukraine and working on the proposals for a lasting and durable peace," Pares added.

Following the European leaders' summit in London on March 2, Starmer reaffirmed that the UK is ready to back the "coalition of the willing" to enforce any future peace agreement in Ukraine, including the deployment of troops on the ground and planes in the air.

He also stressed that Europe must bear the heavy burden of supporting Ukraine but emphasized that U.S. backing is essential for the initiative's success.

According to media reports, British officials have been in talks with representatives from around 20 countries interested in joining the coalition.
