Ukraine hopes for China's active role in achieving just peace – Sybiha
Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha, stated this during the "Ukraine. Year 2025" forum in Kyiv on Sunday, according to Ukrinform.
He expressed confidence that China is also interested in a fair end to Russia's war against Ukraine, as Europe is China's largest market, and stability in the region aligns with Beijing's interests.
Sybiha also described his conversation with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at the Munich Security Conference as "very productive."
"We are grateful to China for expressing support for Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty. We sincerely hope that China's role will be important and active in bringing about a just peace. We are convinced that China has the capabilities of a country with global potential. Therefore, we will continue this dialogue," Sybiha said.
China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi earlier stated that recent calls for finding ways to end the Russia-Ukraine war and pursue peace negotiations had created real opportunities for peace in Ukraine.
