On August 11, Ukraine and the United Kingdom launched the first round of negotiations at the working level regarding the bilateral agreement on security guarantees.

This was announced by the Ukrainian President’s Office, Ukrinform reports.

The Ukrainian delegation is headed by the head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak.

The relevant talks are envisaged by the Joint Declaration of Support for Ukraine, which is the basis for the development of bilateral agreements.

The UK became the second country after the United States of America with which Ukraine started relevant negotiations and saw positive dynamics of implementation of security commitments on the part of Kyiv’s key international partners.

It is noted that the mentioned bilateral guarantees for Ukraine are an element of strengthening common security in the entire Euro-Atlantic region.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on July 12, on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Vilnius, the leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) nations approved the Joint Declaration of Support for Ukraine.

On August 3, Ukraine began negotiations on a bilateral agreement on the provision of security guarantees with the United States of America.
