Belize, Guatemala invited to participate in Crimea Platform

During online meetings with colleagues from Guatemala and Belize, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzheppar renewed the invitation to participate in the 2nd Crimea Platform summit which will be held on August 23 in an online format.

As the official posted on Facebook, she held online meetings with Ava Atzum Arévalo, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala and Amalia Mai, Chief Executive Officer for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, and Immigration of Belize. Dzheppar told the colleagues about Ukraine’s efforts to counter Russian armed aggression.

"During the talks, special attention was paid to the issue of the international Crimea Platform. I informed my colleagues about the main tasks and areas of activity of this international format, as well as about a number of high-level events that will take place within the framework of the international Crimea Platform in 2022. I renewed the invitation to participate in the online summit of the Crimea Platform on August 23," the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine wrote.

As noted, the interlocutors assured Dzheppar of the principled position and the full and unchanging support of Guatemala and Belize for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, including within the framework of international and regional organizations.

As reported, the Crimea Platform is a consultation and communication format launched by the President of Ukraine in August 2021 to structure all issues related to the peninsula. The purpose of this format is to develop practical approaches to draw attention to the situation in Crimea and discuss the possibilities of restoration of Ukraine’s sovereignty over it.
