The Office of the President of Ukraine has endorsed a decision to establish a working group that will coordinate actions regarding the implementation of the Anti-Bribery Convention of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

The relevant statement was made by Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to Yermak, Ukraine continues to implement reforms and systemic changes.

“Our state is fighting for its future, and we are already thinking of post-war life, future reconstruction. Confidence in our country is unprecedented. Its sign is the transfer of advanced weapons to us in order to defend ourselves against the Russian aggression. Also, Ukraine was granted EU candidate status,” Yermak told.

In his words, Ukraine’s accession to the OECD will be a sign of such confidence in our country, which needs to be continuously enhanced.

“It is important for us to ensure the transparency and accountability of procedures in the public and private sectors. This will not only contribute to improving the image of Ukraine and its investment attractiveness but will also help in post-war reconstruction. We strive to rebuild Ukraine after the war. For this purpose, we need dynamic and coherent economy. The fight against corruption and transparency are the way to success and the trust of investors,” Yermak noted.

According to Yermak, Ukraine’s participation in the OECD Working Group on Bribery in International Business Transactions “is a path to improving the Ukrainian criminal, criminal procedural and tax legislation, introducing additional safeguards against corruption in accordance with the global standards.”

Yermak noted that OECD Anti-Corruption Division Head Patrick Moulette highly praised Ukraine’s decision to initiate the accession procedure. In his words, Ukraine has good anti-corruption legislation and anti-corruption infrastructure to work and achieve results.
