Mikhail Podoliak, an adviser to the head of the Ukrainian President's Office, believes that Russia's ruling elite is trying to distance itself from Russia’s move to launch a full-scale invasion of Ukraine and attack peaceful cities.

Podoliak has addressed the issue on Twitter, Ukrinform reports

Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev “publicly stated that the decision to conduct the hardest special operation (war) against Ukraine, including attacks on peaceful cities, was made solely by the Russian President,” Podoliak tweeted.

“The ruling elite is trying to distance itself, understanding the legal consequences,” the tweet concludes.

As reported, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been destroying infrastructure, massively shelling residential areas of Ukrainian cities and towns using artillery, rockets, ballistic missiles, and bombs.
