Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba informed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Đorđe Radulović about the security situation in the temporarily occupied territories and along the state border of Ukraine in the context of the latest aggressive actions of Russia.

This was discussed during their telephone conversation, Ukrinform reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

"Kuleba informed Radulović about the security situation in the temporarily occupied territories and along the state border of Ukraine in the context of Russia's latest aggressive actions. Đorđe Radulović assured that Montenegro unwaveringly supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine," the statement reads.

The ministers also agreed to intensify political dialogue and trade and investment cooperation, in particular in the context of preparations for the visit of Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal to Montenegro to participate in the Central European Initiative (CEI) Summit Meeting of the Heads of Government.

The parties exchanged views on the current security situation in Southeastern Europe, discussed Ukraine–Montenegro cooperation within the framework of international organizations and the schedule of contacts between the two countries for 2022.

As a reminder, The Washington Post was the first to report on the build-up of Russian troops at the border with Ukraine on October 30. The newspaper wrote that some officials in the United States and European countries recorded "unusual movements of equipment and military on the western flank of Russia." The media outlet also referred to videos that appeared on the Internet, in which Russian military echelons and convoys transport equipment to the south and west of the country. Politico wrote that photos were taken by Maxar Technologies on November 1.

In addition, the newspaper, citing data from the Janes, British magazine reporting on military affairs, informed that the equipment of the 4th Guards Tank Division of Russia was moving closer to the border with Ukraine.

According to the Financial Times, Western intelligence officials said that there was a "high probability" that Russia would destabilize the situation in Ukraine this winter after Moscow had amassed more than 90,000 troops at the border.
