Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba informed the foreign ministers of the Slovak Republic and Georgia about the build-up of Russia’s military presence along the Ukrainian border.

The key topic of the telephone conversations was Russia's escalation of the security situation in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and in Crimea.

"Kuleba informed [Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia Ivan] Korčok in detail about the build-up of Russia's military presence along the Russian-Ukrainian border, the intensification of shelling of Ukrainian positions and civilian infrastructure near the contact line, Russia's unwillingness to confirm its commitment to the ceasefire," the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine informs.

The Foreign Minister of Slovakia assured Kuleba of the unconditional support of the newly formed Slovak government for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine against the background of Russia's destabilizing actions.

Korčok also expressed his country's readiness to join the work of the Crimean Platform.

During a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia David Zalkaliani, Kuleba spoke about the destabilizing actions of the Russian Federation, including Russia's escalation of the security situation in eastern Ukraine and Crimea.

The Ukrainian minister drew special attention to Russia's unwillingness to reaffirm its commitment to the ceasefire, the active concentration of troops on the border with Ukraine, and the intensive spread of propaganda that incites hostility and distorts reality.

Zalkaliani expressed solidarity with Ukraine, reaffirmed Georgia's continued support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and pointed out his country’s readiness to join various formats of international support for Ukraine to deter Russian aggression.

The ministers discussed preparations for the inaugural summit of the Crimean Platform, which will be held in Kyiv on August 23.
