War update: 116 combat engagements since morning, with heaviest pressure in Pokrovsk sector

The Russian army has attacked the positions of Ukraine's Defense Forces 116 times since the beginning of the day. The enemy is exerting the greatest pressure in the Pokrovsk sector and is showing increased activity in the Kostiantynivka and Huliaipole sectors.

According to Ukrinfrom, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published operational information on Facebook as of 16:00 on Monday, March 23.

Russian troops continue shelling border areas. Today, strikes targeted settlements in the Sumy region, including Tovstodubove, Vilna Sloboda, Korenok, Ryzhivka, Iskryskivshchyna, Prohres, Holyshivske, Hirky, Kozache, Starykove, and Shpyl, as well as Mykhalchyna Sloboda in the Chernihiv region.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, 13 combat engagements have taken place. Russian forces have already carried out 42 shelling attacks there today, including one using multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Russian troops conducted four attacks near Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, and Starytsia.

In the Kupiansk sector, Russian forces launched six assaults near Petropavlivka, Borivska Andriivka, Novoplatonivka, and Bohuslavka; one battle is ongoing.

In the Lyman sector, Russian troops attempted once to improve their position near Dibrova but were unsuccessful.

In the Sloviansk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled three enemy assaults near Yampil, Platonivka, and Riznykivka; one engagement is ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk sector, no active offensive actions have been recorded so far today.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, Russian forces carried out 13 offensive actions near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Illinivka, Kleban-Byk, and toward Novopavlivka; two clashes are ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 17 enemy assaults near Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Hryshyne, Pokrovsk, Udachne, and Molodetske, as well as toward Novooleksandrivka and Svitle; one clash continues.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, Russian troops conducted seven offensive actions near Stepove, Novohryhorivka, Krasnohirsk, and Zlahoda.

Russian aviation dropped guided bombs near Ivanivka, Pokrovske, and Oleksandrivka.

In the Huliaipole sector, Russian forces carried out 13 attacks near Olenokostiantynivka, Zaliznychne, Huliaipole, Varvarivka, Zelene, Sviatopetrivka, and Myrne.

Enemy aircraft also struck areas near Verkhniа Tersa, Vozdvyzhivka, Babash, Danylivka, Huliaipilske, and Dolynka.

In the Orikhiv sector, no ground offensives were recorded, though airstrikes targeted areas around Orikhiv.

In the Prydniprovske sector, one combat engagement took place.

No significant changes were observed in other front-line directions, and no enemy advances have been recorded.

Ukrainian forces continue to wear down Russian troops along the entire line of contact and in the rear.

As previously reported, Ukrainian Defense Forces denied claims that Russian troops had captured Minkivka and Platonivka.
