Danilov, Sales discuss Ukraine-U.S. cooperation in counterterrorism

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) Oleksiy Danilov has met with Acting Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights, U.S. Coordinator for Counterterrorism Nathan Sales, according to a statement posted on the NSDC website.

During the meeting, the parties discussed Ukrainian-American cooperation, in particular, in the field of combating terrorism.

Danilov thanked the United States for the unwavering support of Ukraine: "We are grateful to the American people for the sincere help and support of Ukraine in these difficult times of war with the Russian aggressor," he said.

Danilov said that countering the terrorist threat is a key element in this context.

"We understand the insidiousness of terrorists, and the fight against terrorism is one of our main challenges. Cyberterrorism is at the forefront today," he said, emphasizing the need to strengthen practical cooperation between Ukraine and the United States, in particular, on the exchange of information on terrorist threats.
