Special group created to support families of PS752 flight victims

The International Coordination and Response Group has been formed to support the families of victims of UIA flight PS752, according to Canada’s Foreign Ministry.

“On Friday, the International Coordination and Response Group for families of victims of Flight PS752, led by Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Foreign Affairs held a call. The participants were: Ukraine, Sweden, Afghanistan, and the United Kingdom,” reads the statement.

It notes that all participating countries agree on the need for a full and transparent investigation into the causes of the plane crash.

“In days and weeks to come, they will continue to remain in close contact and work closely together. They will continue speaking to other international partners to ensure transparency and accountability following this tragic event,” reads the statement.

As reported, Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) flight PS752 crashed shortly after taking off from Tehran on January 8, killing all 176 passengers and crew members on board. According to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, the victims include 11 nationals of Ukraine (two passengers and nine crew members), 63 Canadians, 82 Iranians, 10 Swedes, four citizens of Afghanistan, three Germans, and three British nationals.
