Bakanov defines new tasks for SBU office in Kyiv

Chief of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Ivan Bakanov examined the results of last year’s activities of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in Kyiv and Kyiv region, and also identified new tasks for the SBU office.
“We see a reboot of the Security Service. We must be reformed and become more effective. Our main task is to protect state security, the fight against terrorism, sabotage, cyberthreats, intelligence and subversive activities, etc. I’m sure that the staff of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv is able to perform all assigned tasks and prove the effectiveness of new approaches,” Bakanov noted.
He emphasized the need to strengthen work in key areas to effectively counter the modern challenges facing Ukraine.
