Maas sees no reason to lift EU sanctions against Russia

German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas sees no reason to change the EU sanctions regime imposed on Russia.
“Russia’s contribution to find peace in Ukraine is key for improvement of the EU-Russia relations. People in Eastern Ukraine have been waiting much too long for peace. At the moment no reason to change EU sanctions regime,” German Foreign Office posted on Twitter.
On December 9, the Normandy format talks on the settlement of conflict in Donbas will be held in Paris, after which President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will hold a bilateral meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
