Ukrainian foreign minister to visit Czech Republic in early February

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko plans to make an official visit to the Czech Republic in early February 2020, with the speakers of the two countries' parliaments also expected to make bilateral visits.

This issue was discussed at a meeting between Prystaiko and Czech Foreign Minister Tomas Petricek as part of the 26th OSCE Ministerial Council in Bratislava on Thursday, according to the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

"The parties discussed the state and prospects for further development of the bilateral political dialogue, including at a high level. In particular, they discussed the main aspects of the next visit of the foreign minister of Ukraine to the Czech Republic (February 4-5, 2020), the exchange of visits at the level of the heads of the parliaments of both countries and cooperation in the Visegrad Four+Ukraine format," the report reads.

The ministers also discussed the holding of the first meeting of the Ukrainian-Czech expert forum and the ninth meeting of the Ukrainian-Czech intergovernmental commission on economic, industrial, scientific and technical cooperation.

According to the ministry, Petricek also reaffirmed the Czech Republic's unwavering course in support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, the non-recognition of Russia's illegal annexation of Crimea and the continuation of sanctions pressure on Russia.
