President Poroshenko: Pay rise for teachers - state’s investments in Ukraine’s future

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko says that a pay raise for teachers is investments in Ukraine’s future.
He stated this during his working trip to Donetsk region on Monday, August 28, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“The law on education reform is now in the Verkhovna Rada. I hope that in the near future it will be voted. Education standards will be significantly raised. Last but not least priority is a rise in teachers' salaries. I consider this increase not simply an additional article of the budget, but as investments of the state, investments of the state in its future," said Poroshenko.
As Ukrinform earlier reported, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman on August 15 stated that the government intends to raise salaries of teachers by at least 25% in 2018.
