EU extends sanctions against occupied Crimea for another year

On Friday, the European Union has extended until June 23, 2017 the economic restrictive measures against Crimean economy that was temporarily occupied by Russia, according to the decision adopted by the EU Council on Friday, Ukrinform’s own Brussels correspondent has reported.
"The EU Council has extended until 23 June 2017 the restrictive measures in response to the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol by Russia," the EU officials stated.
These measures impose restrictions on the activities of individuals and companies from the EU to operate in Crimea. It includes bans on imports of goods originating from Crimea and Sevastopol, investments in Crimea and Sevastopol.
It’s noted that the EU continues to condemn the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol by Russia and remains committed to implementing the policy of non-recognition in full.
