Russian troops carried out more than 150 attacks in the Southern Slobozhanshchyna region during the first half of May, while the 2nd Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine Khartia continues active defensive operations.

According to Ukrinform, Syrskyi announced this on Facebook.

"I worked with the 2nd Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine Khartia, which is conducting active defense operations  in the Southern Slobozhanshchyna region. During the first half of May, the enemy carried out more than 150 attacks in this sector. Our soldiers are effectively holding back the pressure of the Russian invaders and inflicting significant losses on them," he said.

During the working trip, Syrskyi discussed with the corps command and combat brigade leadership the implementation of assigned tasks, as well as proposals for strengthening defensive capabilities and destroying more occupying forces.

According to him, the priorities of Ukraine's Defense Forces remain regaining the initiative on the battlefield, inflicting maximum losses on the enemy, and preserving the lives of Ukrainian defenders.

As Ukrinform previously reported, Syrskyi also visited one of the hottest combat sectors — the Oleksandrivka direction.
