The state of health of Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko, who is on a dry hunger strike for 10 days in a detention center in Russia, is critical.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin told reporters, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“It’s true, the state of health of Nadiya is critical,” the minister said.

When asked about possible exchange, Klimkin said: “The sentence on Russian citizens should be passed [in Ukraine]. After the sentence, we’ll try to work as fast as we can [on the issue of exchange], understanding that every hour of Nadiya’s stay and the state of her health are very important for us,” Klimkin said.

At the same time, he failed to comment for whom they were planning to exchange Savchenko: “I don’t want to tell about the details now, as it could do harm”.
