Settlers from Donbas have said that involvement of the public in the Minsk negotiations could bring good results.

Head of the Eastern Partnership Association Vadym Horian said at a press conference at Ukrinform.

“Luhansk community in Kyiv at a general meeting has taken a decision to address the Ukrainian President with a request to allow the public to participate in the peaceful talks [in Minsk],” he said.

According to him, first of all, the intellects of Donbas residents should be reintegrated, but not the territories and the people’s diplomacy is the best tool for this.

Serhiy Davydov, the head of the Entrepreneurs’ Union of Luhansk region in Kyiv, in turn, stressed that the economic situation in the conflict area, the development of smuggling have a negative impact on business.

“The process that is taking place doesn’t suit us. That’s why we have supported the address of Luhansk community with a request to involve wide circles of the public in the negotiation process in Minsk,” Davydov said.
