Avalanche risk expected in Ukraine’s Carpathian mountains

Avalanche danger is expected in the Ukrainian Carpathians due to heavy snowfall.
The State Emergency Service reported this with reference to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center's forecasts.
"Due to the intensive increase in snow cover in the area of activity of the Pozhyzhevska avalanche station (Ivano-Frankivsk region), an avalanche season has been declared open in the mountainous areas of Zakarpattia, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernivtsi regions," the report says.
