The Ukraine's women's saber fencing team of Olha Kharlan, Alina Komashchuk, Olena Kravatska and Olha Zhovnir has won gold at the Fencing World Cup in Athens (Greece), the Fencing Federation of Ukraine reports.
KYIV, February 2 /Ukrinform/. The Ukraine's women's saber fencing team of Olha Kharlan, Alina Komashchuk, Olena Kravatska and Olha Zhovnir has won gold at the Fencing World Cup in Athens (Greece), the Fencing Federation of Ukraine reports.
"In 1/16, our team defeated Japan (45:33), then outpointed Italy (45:34), in the semifinals defeated the world leaders, the USA (45:44) and in the finals gained flawless victory over Russia (45: 35)," reads the statement.
This victory led Ukrainian team to the fifth rank in the world classification.
Ukraine's Olha Kharlan has won individual gold, having defeated Russia's Sophia Velikaya.
