Ukraine’s nuclear power plants have restored more than 90% of their capacity following Russia’s February 7 attack.

According to Ukrinform, this was announced by Oleh Korikov, head of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate, during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.

“After Russia’s latest strike on power substations, capacity at nuclear power plants is being restored. More than 90% has already been recovered,” Korikov said.

He noted that Ukraine’s nuclear plants are currently operating stably, with radiation levels at plant sites within normal limits.

Monitoring missions of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) remain at all nuclear facilities, including the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant.

As reported, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal stated that during the February 7 attack, substations and 750 kV and 330 kV transmission lines — the backbone of Ukraine’s power grid — as well as the Burshtyn and Dobrotvir thermal power plants came under Russian attack. Nuclear power plant units were temporarily unloaded by staff.
