Russian troops strike Donetsk region more than 1,300 times in one day, leaving dead and injured
According to Ukrinform, the regional police stated this on Telegram.
"During May 18, police recorded 1,336 enemy attacks along the front line and against residential areas of the region… A total of 45 civilian objects were damaged, including 32 residential buildings," the statement said.
It is noted that eight settlements came under fire: the cities of Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Mykolaivka, and Sloviansk; the settlement of Sviatohorivka; and the villages of Kindrativka, Maiaky, and Myrne.
In particular, Kramatorsk endured 10 attacks, the largest involving Smerch multiple launch rocket systems. Russian forces killed one civilian and injured three others. One apartment building, 22 private homes, a workshop, and five civilian vehicles were damaged.
The enemy dropped three KAB-250 bombs on Druzhkivka, killing one person and damaging three apartment buildings.
Russian forces struck Sloviansk with two drones, damaging five private houses and a vehicle.
In Mykolaivka, an apartment building was damaged; in Myrne, a non-residential building was hit; and in Maiaky, a civilian vehicle was damaged.
As previously reported, the Donetsk region remains under constant shelling by Russian forces. Nearly every day, the Russian army kills and injures civilians while destroying homes, businesses, energy, gas, and other infrastructure facilities. The Donetsk region has the longest front line, stretching approximately 300 kilometers.
