Russian army attacks Zaporizhzhia

On the morning of May 19, Russian forces launched an attack on Zaporizhzhia, causing a fire to break out.

According to Ukrinform, the head of Zaporizhzhia region military administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported this on Telegram.

“As a result of the enemy attack on Zaporizhzhia, an extension building in the yard of a private residential house caught fire,” Fedorov stated.

The fire has been extinguished. Preliminary reports indicate there were no casualties.

An air raid alert has now been declared in the city and the region due to a possible threat of strikes involving guided aerial bombs and ballistic missiles.

Earlier reports stated that Russian forces attacked the Zaporizhzhia region 858 times over the previous day.
