Naftogaz halts technological processes at facility attacked by Russians in western Ukraine
As reported by Ukrinform, this was announced on Facebook by Serhii Koretskyi, CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine.
“In the morning of January 27, Russians attacked a critical infrastructure facility of the Naftogaz Group in the western region. As a result of the strike, a fire broke out at the site,” Koretskyi said.
He noted that, for security reasons and in order to protect people and prevent environmental pollution, company specialists immediately stopped technological processes at the facility.
Emergency responders from the State Emergency Service are working at the impact site, and Naftogaz is also coordinating its actions with local authorities.
Koretskyi emphasized that this was already the 15th targeted attack on critical infrastructure facilities of the Naftogaz Group in January.
As reported earlier, Russian forces attacked an infrastructure facility in the Lviv region.
In the town of Brody, Lviv region, educational institutions were switched to remote learning due to air pollution caused by the Russian attack on the infrastructure facility. Nearly a twofold exceedance of carbon monoxide levels has been recorded in the city.
