Emergency power cuts in effect in Kyiv, 127 buildings without heating — Kyiv City Military Administration
This was announced on television by Kyiv City Military Administration spokeswoman Kateryna Pop, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.
“All buildings are on the emergency shutdown schedule. We hope that the situation will be resolved in the near future and we will switch to the planned schedule, although there is no confirmed information from the service provider yet,” the spokeswoman said.
She reminded that as of yesterday, 287 buildings in the capital were without centralized heating. Currently, 127 buildings remain without heating, excluding those where an emergency heat supply cannot be provided. Utility workers are working around the clock, Pop assured.
According to her, the most difficult situation is in the Holosiivskyi and Desnianskyi districts. “In other districts, the percentage of buildings without heat supply is not significant. But the total number is 127,” Pop said.
The spokeswoman noted that in almost every district of the capital, there are cases of pipe ruptures in high-rise buildings. This is because technical services did not drain the systems in time.
“All such cases are under the control of district state administrations, building managers provide such information, and for each specific building, the timing of the work and the possibility of restoring heat supply in such buildings are determined,” Pop said.
As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of January 9, Russian troops launched a massive attack on Kyiv, leaving 417,000 customers without electricity and 6,000 apartment buildings without heating. Seven districts of the city were affected by the attack. The left bank suffered the most damage in the capital.
