PM Shmyhal thanks Canada for banning Russian aluminium, steel imports

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has expressed gratitude to the Government of Canada for banning the import of Russian aluminium and steel products.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Twitter, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Eliminating Russia’s ability to finance the war is one of the steps to Ukraine’s victory,” Shmyhal wrote.

For this decision, Shmyhal thanked the Government of Canada, Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Canada Chrystia Freeland.

“We hope for similar decisions from other countries. We must stop Russian war machine,” the Prime Minister of Ukraine added.
