Ukraine to buy about 4-5 bln cu m of gas from Russia

NJSC "Naftogaz of Ukraine" this year will purchase about 4-5 billion cubic meters of gas from Russia and will continue to import gas from the European direction.
CEO of the Naftogaz of Ukraine Andriy Kobolev said this at the press conference, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"We plan to import gas from two directions. The price which Gazprom is now obliged to set is very attractive. We should take advantage of this economic benefit," Kobolev said.
He explained that Naftogaz should buy 4-5 billion cubic meters of gas from the Russian Gazprom starting from 2018.
As reported, the Naftogaz of Ukraine has not supplied gas from Russia since the end of 2015. Pursuant to the decision of the Stockholm Arbitration, Ukraine is obliged to resume deliveries of the minimum volumes of gas from Russia in accordance with the "take or pay" provision of the contract.
