UAH 19 bln in refinance funds stolen from PrivatBank under Yanukovych rule

The Main Investigation Department at the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine carries out a pre-trial investigation into criminal proceedings over misappropriation of funds, allocated by the National Bank of Ukraine for refinancing, by officials of PrivatBank. The proceeding was entered into the unified register of pre-trial investigations on November 13, 2014.
This is stated in the relevant ruling of the Pechersky District Court in Kyiv on July 29.
According to the case files, it was established during the pre-trial investigation that the PrivatBank officials abused their power in 2014 to misappropriate the NBU assets in the amount of over UAH 19 billion, allocated for refinancing of PrivatBank.
