Energy efficiency agency reports on reduction in natural gas consumption

“The budget sphere, Teplokomunenergo, population in the Ukrainian government-controlled territories over the two years have reduced gas consumption by 5.8 billion cubic meters. This means, there was no need for us to purchase it, in particular, from Gazprom,” Head of the State Agency Energy Efficiency , Serhiy Savchuk, said at a press conference at the Cabinet of Ministers, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to him, the reduction in natural gas consumption totaled 2.3 billion cubic meters, or 10% in 2014, while in 2015 it reached 16%.

“How did we manage to receive such results? First of all, it is due to a very good dynamics of transferring heating into alternative resources. In 2014, private investors managed to build heat supply facilities of 452 mW. In 2015, this tendency improved –750 mW of additional facilitates,”
