Ukraine puts tank T-64 on world market

KYIV, December 23 /Ukrinform/. Ukroboronservice, a state-controlled enterprise, is taking active effort to introduce the T-64 tank to the international market. The company has created conditions for the formation of a contractual interest in acquiring this type of tanks by foreign customers.

Director of the company, which is member of the Ukroboronprom state concern, Serhiy Mykytiuk, said this in an interview, noting that the T-64 had never been delivered abroad.

"The implementation of the T-64 project should open a new page in history of both Ukroboronservice, and in general Ukroboronprom. "There is a confidence in the success of this product, which surpasses many analogues by price/quality," Mykytiuk said.

According to him, the main customers of T-64 are the countries that use the Soviet equipment. Mostly, it is the regions of Africa, Southeast Asia, partly Arab countries.

T-64 is the main battle tank, created in the early 1960s by Kharkiv Transport Engineering Plant (now Malyshev Factory).

Today, Ukraine is the main operator of T- 64 tanks. T-64 modifications make the basis of the Ukrainian Land Forces.
