Arbuzov: Ukraine to borrow required amount of money from IMF
KYIV, February 4 /UKRINFORM/. Ukraine will borrow from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) the amount of money required for economic development.
Ukrainian First Deputy Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov announced this live on the Events of the Week program on Ukraina TV Channel.
"We will borrow the necessary amount of money. Judging from [Ukraine's] balance of payments, investors trust us. There's only a matter of price. Therefore, of course, we would like to reach agreement with the IMF," he said.
While commenting on the fund's demands, on which the allocation of a loan depends, Arbuzov said that the sides "are discussing the monetary and exchange rate policy of the central bank, the issue of the budget deficit, and the issue of tariff policies."
"Today we are making every effort to ensure that the country receives assistance and emerges from the current situation," Arbuzov said.
