The Ukrainian side of the Joint Center on Control and Coordination of the ceasefire and stabilization of the contact line (JCCC) reports on the shelling of villages near the line of contact by the armed formations of the Russian Federation.

“In the evening of April 28, the occupiers fired six 120mm mortar shells from the area of Molodizhne village towards the village of Katerynivka. The use of mortars was accompanied by fire from grenade launchers and small arms. Fortunately, mines fell in a field near the village and did not damage buildings or injure local residents,” the press center of the JFO Headquarters informs.

The Ukrainian side of the JCCC verified the places of shelling and confirmed the enemy’s use of prohibited weapons.

“The number and intensity of shelling by the armed forces of the Russian Federation along the entire line of contact have increased sharply against the background of the Trilateral Contact Group meetings. The purpose of the mercenaries’ actions is to put pressure on the military and political leadership of Ukraine in order to force Ukraine to make decisions favorable to the occupiers,” the statement reads.

The JFO Headquarters emphasizes that the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stay on positions and strictly adhere to the commitments on the comprehensive ceasefire regime, which were achieved within the TCG framework.

As reported, over the past 24 hours, on April 29, 13 ceasefire violations by the armed forces of the Russian Federation were recorded in the JFO area.
