Kremlin ramping up war propaganda ahead of May 9 celebrations
According to Ukrinform, the CCD shared this on Telegram.
“In Russia, the scale of war propaganda continues to grow ahead of Victory Day, which the Kremlin has long turned into a quasi-religious state cult,” the statement said.

The Center notes that one of the largest propaganda initiatives of this so-called “victory frenzy” is the “Victory Dictation.” Russian media boast that this year’s campaign will be “record-breaking,” extending beyond educational institutions to virtually all sectors – enterprises, government offices, railway stations, airports, and even spaceports.
“It is clear that most people will take part in the ‘dictation’ under coercion. The main participants are school pupils, students, servicemen and their families, as well as public-sector employees and trade unions,” the CCD explained.
In addition, the Center reports that the propaganda “dictation” will also be held in countries of the Global South, with active involvement from Rossotrudnichestvo, a Russian organization tasked with promoting the country’s influence abroad.
“The tasks of the ‘dictation’ are purely propagandistic and, beyond promoting Russia’s version of World War II, are aimed at justifying the so-called ‘special military operation’ and glorifying its participants. Alongside the ‘dictation,’ another propaganda tool is being promoted in Russia – a specialized neural network trained on propaganda,” the CCD emphasized.
The Center stressed that the Kremlin has fully transformed the memory of the tragedy of World War II into a tool of all-encompassing propaganda for its war of aggression.
As Ukrinform previously reported, Russian propaganda has been spreading disinformation claiming that Ukrainian forces blew up a residential building in Donetsk region, allegedly killing civilians; however, these claims lack evidence and are part of a disinformation campaign.
