Russian massive attack on Kyiv leaves 11 educational institutions damaged
According to Ukrinform, the Kyiv City State Administration stated this on its website, citing Deputy Head of the KCSA Valentyn Mondriivskyi.
According to preliminary data, five preschool institutions, four schools, one vocational education institution, and a college were damaged.
"Unfortunately, Russian attacks continue to damage the capital's educational infrastructure. Today we have damage to 11 educational institutions in three districts of the city. These are mostly broken and damaged windows. Together with district state administrations and city services, we are already working to eliminate the consequences. Our task is to restore the institutions as quickly as possible and ensure safe conditions for children and education workers," Mondriivskyi said.
Specialists are inspecting the buildings and clarifying the scope of the necessary restoration work.
The KCSA noted that since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, the capital's educational infrastructure has regularly been damaged by enemy attacks. In total, since February 2022, nearly 200 educational institutions in Kyiv have been damaged. Most of them have already been restored, while work continues at other sites.
Mondriivskyi stressed that the city continues to systematically restore educational infrastructure in order to ensure the continuity of the educational process and proper conditions for children's learning and for teaching staff to work.
As Ukrinform reported, six people were killed and 79 were injured in Kyiv as a result of Russia's massive attack on June 2.
