Injury toll after massive Russian shelling in Poltava region rises to 12

The number of people injured in the massive Russian shelling in the Poltava region has risen to 12.

According to Ukrinform, the Poltava Regional Prosecutor's Office reported this on its website.

In the Poltava region, 12 civilians were injured in the shelling, including a five-year-old boy. The child is currently in serious condition in the hospital. The total number of victims is being clarified. The Russian army used "Geran-2" drones and missiles, the types of which are being determined.

The Poltava city council reported that an extraordinary meeting of the executive committee was held. Funds were allocated for the burial of one of the victims of the Russian shelling. Another deceased person lived in a different community. Additionally, based on previously processed requests, material assistance was provided to two people whose homes were rendered uninhabitable.

Communal services and social workers are operating at three locations to document the damage. House inspections are ongoing. As of 11:00, 18 households and dozens of vehicles were reported damaged. Windows were broken in three educational institutions.

As Ukrinform previously reported, two people, including a child, are in intensive care following the Russian shelling of Poltava. Earlier reports had stated 11 people injured in the Poltava region.
