Russians attack energy infrastructure in Odesa, market and supermarket catch fire

Energy infrastructure was damaged in Odesa as a result of a Russian drone attack on Thursday, February 12.

According to Ukrinform, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.

As a result of the Russian UAV strikes, a 9-story residential building was damaged, and a fire broke out. Rescuers quickly extinguished the fire on the upper floors.

In addition, energy infrastructure was damaged, and fires broke out in shopping pavilions at the market and in a supermarket. Windows in nearby buildings were broken, and cars were damaged.

Firefighters worked in harsh conditions, with repeated alarms interrupting their efforts to extinguish the fires.

Preliminary data indicate that one person was injured. Psychologists from the State Emergency Service provided assistance to 23 people who found themselves at the epicenter of the events.

In the Odesa region, Russian invaders again attacked a DTEK energy facility. Repairs will take a long time to restore the equipment to working order.

“We are currently working on site, clearing the debris. We will do everything possible to eliminate the consequences of the attack as quickly as possible. The primary task is to restore electricity to critical infrastructure facilities,” DTEK emphasized.

As reported by Ukrinform, the head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, said an operational headquarters has already been set up in Odesa, where residents of damaged buildings can receive all necessary assistance.
