Ukrainian air defenses neutralize 76 of 101 drones Russia launched against Ukraine overnight

Ukraine's air defense forces neutralized 76 of the 101 drones used by Russia to attack Ukraine from the evening of January 22.

The Ukrainian Air Force Command announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"On the night of January 23 (from 20:00 on January 22), the enemy attacked with 101 strike UAVs of the Shahed type (including jet-powered ones), Gerberas, and drones of other types from Kursk, Oryol, Shatalovo, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russian) and Donetsk (temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine). About 60 of them were Shaheds," the statement said.

The aerial assault was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire teams of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 08:00 on January 23, air defense shot down or suppressed 76 enemy UAVs of the Shahed type, Gerberas, and other drones.

Nineteen strike UAVs were recorded hitting 12 locations.

The attack is ongoing, with several enemy drones still in Ukrainian airspace.
