Russian drone attacks Ukrposhta vehicle in Sumy region
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by Ukrposhta CEO Ihor Smiliansky on Telegram.
“Today was another difficult day for Ukrposhta. Our heroic employees are doing everything they can to reach people despite snowdrifts, power outages, and lack of heating. Every day, we start up thousands of generators to continue providing services, selling goods, and issuing pensions,” Smiliansky said.
According to him, “the enemy continues to destroy our infrastructure.”
On Thursday, January 15, a Russian drone struck a Ukrposhta vehicle in the Sumy region.
Smiliansky noted that this is the fifth vehicle lost in this region in recent months.
According to him, no employees were injured. With the help of local residents, they replaced the wheels and returned to their base.
In addition, Smiliansky reported that at night, the Russians attacked a Ukrposhta branch in Novomykolaivka, Zaporizhzhia region. All the windows were broken, and the building was significantly damaged.
Smiliansky noted that on Friday, January 16, thanks to the help of local authorities, the branch will open in a new location, while a search for a permanent location will continue.
As reported by Ukrinform, in September 2025, pensioners and the Ukrposhta crew were hit by Russian strikes in the village of Yarova, Donetsk region.
