Ukrainian forces strike missile and drone navigation factory in Chuvashia
According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.
In the early hours of November 26, Ukrainian Defense Forces units struck, among other targets, the VNDIR-Progress factory in Cheboksary (Chuvash Republic), which manufactures navigation equipment and components for cruise and ballistic missiles.
The strike hit the enterprise’s territory, causing a subsequent fire at the facility.
The factory produces GNSS receivers and antennas for satellite systems GLONASS, GPS, and Galileo, including Kometa modules used in Shahed-type kamikaze drones, as well as in missiles of the Iskander-M and Kalibr complexes, and in UMPC modules for aerial bombs.
The extent of the damage is being assessed.
Additionally, Ukrainian drones struck a command post of a unit of Russia’s 58th Combined Arms Army in temporarily occupied Vasylivka, Zaporizhzhia region; a Tor-M1 surface-to-air missile system in Mariupol; brigade-level ammunition depots in Ocheretyne and Kamianka in temporarily occupied parts of Donetsk region; and a cluster of Russian personnel on the Pokrovsk front.
As reported earlier by Ukrinform, the Cheboksary-based VNDIR-Progress enterprise, which produces Kometa antennas that protect Russian strike UAVs from Ukrainian electronic warfare systems, was hit by drones. Local residents reported multiple explosions.
