Ukrainian General Staff strengthens officer training, implements NATO standards
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
It is noted that training for officers of corps headquarters is being conducted with the involvement of foreign instructors with combat experience. The main focus of the course is enhancing capabilities in the military decision-making process in accordance with NATO standards (MDMP).
The Main Directorate for Doctrine and Training (J7) of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, together with other departments, systematically organizes training and methodological sessions for officers who are candidates for command positions. The training covers combat planning, unit command and control, use of specialized software, combat training, logistics, and other key areas. Based on final assessments, a ranking of candidates is formed, which serves as the basis for appointments to positions.
In addition, the J7 working group has completed a study of training practices in frontline units, drawing directly on the experience of officers and sergeants from the front. “Based on the results, proposals have been submitted to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to scale innovative approaches that improve training quality, psychological resilience, and motivation of Ukrainian soldiers,” the General Staff noted.
As reported by Ukrinform, a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council will be held in Brussels on May 19 within the framework of the upcoming NATO Military Committee.
The NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Center (JATEC) has identified innovation, analytics and artificial intelligence, education and training, medicine, and interoperability with the Alliance as key priorities for its work this year.
