Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery stops after drone attack – Reuters
Two industry sources told Reuters about this on Monday, October 20, Ukrinform reports.
According to the sources, the refinery shut down its AVT-11 crude distillation unit, which has a capacity of 18,900 metric tons per day (approximately 138,540 barrels per day), as well as the AVT-9 unit.
Last year, the Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery processed 5.74 million tons of crude oil, producing 1.10 million tons of motor gasoline, 1.64 million tons of diesel fuel, and 1.27 million tons of fuel oil, according to industry sources.
Primary oil processing at the refinery had previously been suspended following a drone attack last month.
The sources added that the plant may resume operations in early November.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, on October 19, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck oil and gas refineries in Russia’s Samara region (the Novokuybyshevsk refinery) and Orenburg region, as well as a fuel and lubricant depot in the temporarily occupied Berdiansk in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Earlier, the Novokuybyshevsk refinery came under a drone attack on September 20.
