Russia has launched serial production of aerial bombs with a range of 200 kilometers.

Deputy Chief of the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine Vadym Skibitskyi stated this during the Energy that Holds Ukraine forum organized by RBC-Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

According to him, during September and October, the Russian Federation developed and has now moved to combat testing of aerial bombs equipped with new guidance modules. These modules enable strikes at distances of around 200 kilometers and feature enhanced resistance to Ukrainian air defense systems.

“The first such strikes were recorded on Dnipro; now we are seeing them in other cities,” Skibitskyi said.

He noted that these bombs are referred to as Grom-1 or Grom-2, but their essence is the same — a combat range of 150–200 kilometers. The latest tests demonstrated a range of up to 193 kilometers.

Skibitskyi also added that Ukrainian intelligence proactively warns the Air Force and the heads of critical infrastructure enterprises about planned Russian attacks.

According to him, this allows preparations for the strikes and enables air defense units to maneuver in order to protect the most important facilities.

He emphasized that complete security is possible only with the creation of a powerful, multi-layered air defense system capable of operating at various altitudes and ranges.

As reported by Ukrinform, on October 18, Russian forces struck the city of Lozova in the Kharkiv region with a guided aerial bomb of a new modification that traveled 130 kilometers.
