Enemy preparing for small-scale assaults in south, airborne operation unlikely – Defense Forces
Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces, said this in a commentary to Ukrinform.
“An airborne operation requires a substantial number of forces and resources, particularly for troop transportation. Currently, our intelligence has not detected such preparations in the region. While we cannot say it is impossible, they are not ready to carry out it in the near future,” Voloshyn explained.
He emphasized that the enemy is actively preparing small infantry groups for localized assault operations and battles, rather than a large-scale tactical landing.
“The focus is on certain islands or establishing a bridgehead on the right bank, which could be used to target the Dnipro Straits and the Dnipro itself. However, at present, they lack the necessary forces and resources to carry out an amphibious operation and cross the Dnipro River,” Voloshyn assured.
As reported by Ukrinform, in the Kherson region, police reported damage to medical and educational institutions, as well as mobile phone operator equipment, due to enemy shelling over the past day. Two people were killed, and five others were wounded in Russian attacks.
