Doctors remove mine shank from wounded soldier’s body

In one of front-line hospitals, Ukrainian military doctors removed a mine shank from the body of a wounded serviceman.

"During further examination by doctors of one of the front-line hospitals, a foreign object was found in the body of a wounded person, the contours of which resembled a mine shank," the Medical Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine posted on Facebook.

A team of sappers was called, and after the investigation, they confirmed that the foreign object could be removed safely.

The doctors made a decision on surgical intervention and removal of the shank.

According to the Medical Forces Command, the patient's condition is stable, he is prepared for further medical evacuation and rehabilitation.

As reported, doctors performed an operation to remove a stone fragment from the heart of a serviceman.
