Russia greatly underestimates losses among its paratroopers - DIU

Representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Andriy Yusov said this on the air of the telethon "United News", answering the question whether the data from the head of the Russian Airborne Forces Mykhailo Teplinskyi about losses in Ukraine, in particular, about 8.500 wounded Russian paratroopers, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Even these figures are reduced, and deliberately reduced. But even such a dosed truth is strictly forbidden in this kingdom of crooked mirrors, and even half-truths can be told in Putin's Russia only by accident. It is clear that for the ruscism regime, it is deadly to discuss the issue of losses within its own so-called state at all," Yusov said.

"Moreover, when a representative of the military command calls a spade a spade, at least partially, it provokes further reactions and discussions - both among military commanders and, in fact, among ordinary Russians - "Ivaniushok" in their kitchens. The regime cannot allow this to happen, so it is trying to clean up [this data]. But everyone has already heard what has been said," Yusov added.

As reported, in his address, Teplinskyi said that 8,500 paratroopers were wounded and later returned to the ranks or refused to leave the front line at all. This video was quickly removed from the official channels of the Russian Ministry of Defense. However, Teplinskyi did not say how many Russian paratroopers were killed or seriously wounded during the war in Ukraine.

British intelligence has said that Russia has lost at least half of its elite paratroopers who were sent to the war in Ukraine in 2022.
